(...or how to live the 2nd half of 2011....)
All of this got me to thinking, at this time, of how we approach our duties in life. For instance:
- Are we the best we can be as a Father, Mother or Friend?
- Are we the best we can be at the office, factory or on the sales team?
- Are we the best we know HOW to be as a student in High School, college or night school?
- Are we giving God our best as one called to be a son or daughter of the Living God?
OR...are we sleep walking through life, going for the gusto at snail speed with an energy level (on purpose) slower than molasses???!! If the answer to any of the four questions above (or all of them) is NO...or I don't know...we have some work to do.
God did not meet us Halfway! When He sent Jesus, He sent the best, my friends! THE VERY BEST!! He sent His Son. Therefore, when His Son saves us, brings us into the Eternal Kingdom of the son and more....do we do it half way?
Here is Hebrews 6:12 (NLT) "Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God's promises because of their faith and endurance".
If you're having a problem committing to anything in life, study this verse and all the great saints in the Bible who had it 5000 times harder than we did, in their lives, yet give it their all!!
Therefore, as the second half of the year begins, let's resolve not only to take stock of who and WHOSE we are, but are we only checking in, having our ticket punched and then sitting in the bleachers watching everybody else play!
Time to take the plunge and go full bore for Jesus!!
