FOOD FOR THOUGHT - WEDNESDAY

HOW TO LOVE YOUR ENEMY!

We are all people under authority. Even our managers at work report to their managers.  When a decision comes down from above, it filters down to our level and we execute the plan.

So how come, when God gives us clear instructions - through His Spirit and His Word - we do not pay attention? OR if we understand these instructions, we either ignore them or postpone action on them. Sometimes God asks us to do difficult things...as in this passage below from Acts 9 - love a persecutor! We all know or have worked with, or gone to school with, mental bullies and obnoxious people.

The question is - do we obey the Commandment to pray for our "enemies" and love them as Christ loved us, before we were saved and gave His Life for us?

I can tell you first hand, that loving your enemy is hard.
But if you consistently pray for 1. Protection 2. Provision 3. Salvation for that person 4. Positioning them into the Hands of the Lord to do as He wills....if you do ALL these things...watch God work!! YES!! JUST WATCH HIM WORK!

Next time you have a difficult situation like this making you uncomfortable in the office, store, factory or even at church, practice these things and watch God deliver both you and your "enemy" ....if he/she is willing!

Acts 9:13-15 (NLT)
13 “But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem14 And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.”
15 But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel".
