CLEAVE TO JESUS FIRST!
As I prepare to officiate at my first wedding as a licensed minister of the Gospel (while under severe satanic attack), it brings to mind not only the state of marriage in our society, but all the atmospherics. Genesis 2:24 says "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (KJV).But today, we have wed ourselves to so much of our stuff, we have forgotten this simple scripture and its meaning! All marriages begin beautifully - roses; white dresses; cakes; beautiful prayers and honeymoons. Fortunately for some on us, even through trials, our honeymoon still continues after two or three decades!
The real test comes with - of all things - MONEY! Our society treasures our stuff; our houses; our boats (if we have one) and cars. Not to mention fishing poles; golf clubs or membership in this or that organization. But when hard times hit and we lose some or all of that, where do our newly weds put their trust and complete faith?
For many, unfortunately, it is in themselves. This leads to conflict which, if not resolved with Scripture, leads to separation and divorce. Divorce INSIDE the church is now WORSE than in the greater society! Is that any example to set???!!
Therefore if Christ, the LORD Jesus, the ROCK OF AGES, is not the Firm Foundation on which ALL marriages are built, Houston (and Dallas) we have a huge problem.
Remember this verse as we press on and then give thanks to the Lord by Praying Psalm 103!!

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
