DAY 28/40 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR AMERICA

AMERICA ON ITS KNEES
VOTE THE BIBLE....
GOD WILL HOLD CHRISTIANS TO ACCOUNT

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7
As Christians, we are called to follow what the Scripture prescribes in this verse above, period. Rather than follow the "chariots and horses" (or the powerful things and people of this world"). We follow God and Him alone! There is now a controversy concerning an ad which the world's greatest evangelist, and the greatest preacher of the last century - the Reverend Billy Graham - put out last week, which implored real Christians to vote Biblical values in the November 6, 2012 elections.

In that ad, pictured here, Dr. Graham stated what is obvious - Biblical values are supreme over all. During any elections - from Mayor to Governor or Senator, core beliefs are the key determinant. If a person is a shareholder in a corporation, what the Corporation's CEO believes and who they support with your investment dollars are equally as important. When the new CEO of JCPenney (and former Apple executive) Johnson decided that Hollywood values were more important than traditional family values, JCPenney stock and sales fell, well, into penny stock range. A Christian would not support (or should not) adulterous politicians or church leaders etc, and therefore, now, the burden is on the believer to do so again, not because a preacher or some Christian activist said so, but because God will hold everyone to account for every action. This is true if we rent or support movies which violate His Law, or vote for anyone, regardless of political background. I have written in candidates before, because neither candidate in a past election, was pro-life or pro-family. The following passage confirms what those of us who let our conscience be our guide, powered by the Word of God, already know:

He (God) will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality. For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. (Romans 2:6-13 ESV)

So Father, in the Name of Jesus, thank You for giving us the Instruction Manual for Life, in Your Holy and Precious Scriptures as THE Guidebook for our lives....in every way, for every question, for every angle is covered by it, if we would just open our eyes. Father, I let my conscience, guided by principles imputed to us, at the point of Salvation, when Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to live inside of us, guide me in life daily. Therefore, I let the Spirit tell now, how I should think about voting. The Giver of All Truth, the Counselor, the Paraclete, is our Friend, our Guide, our Counselor and YOUR Representative. I repent of anything I have done in the past contrary to Your Truth to support politicians etc, prior to 2006, who did not follow Your principles. While we may personally like or dislike a particular candidate's views, let us always realize that You, oh God, especially in these evil times, will "repay" or hold us to account for the choices we make in elections; or at the stores or anywhere for that matter. Help us to fear You, rather than fear men. Help us to respect all people from all walks of life, to love and pray for them, even if we are complete opposites in views and standing in Christ. But also help us to stand on the Word of God, on Biblical Truth and never waver because we love Truth, and Jesus, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life and it is in His Name I pray, amen.
